Impact Hub x World Wide Fund for Nature
As Britain mourns the death of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, its an appropriate moment to share the part of his legacy which has driven one of the most important partnerships for the Impact Hub network.
As one of the founders of the World Wide Fund for Nature in 1961, Prince Philip took an early and genuine interest in conservation, locating the issue at the heart of British culture and raising global awareness for decades to come. He served as president of the WWF from 1981 to 1996 and remained President Emeritus until his retirement from public life.
The network of 100+ Impact Hub cities across the planet is a natural partner for the work of the WWF. As such, both organisations have been in global partnership, combining the WWF’s decades of natural conservation expertise with Impact Hub’s support for entrepreneurial environmental innovation. The partnership is active in 30 countries and has supported 159 ventures, mobilised by €3.2m of funding.
Here at Impact Hub Bradford, we’re keen to represent our city in this global endeavour and bring our city’s wonderful blend of natural beauty and youthful, idealistic entrepreneurship to meet the challenges of a sustainable and prosperous environment. We can’t think of a better way for the Prince’s interest in conservation to be carried by a new generation.
WWF, one of the world’s largest natural conservation organizations, and Impact Hub, a leading global network of entrepreneurial communities, places and programs, have partnered to identify, accelerate and scale innovative solutions that have potential to transform industries and their impact on our planet.
